چکیده

Introduction. Mirizzi syndrome (MS) represents a rare clinical entity caused by impaction of one or multiple stones in the infundibulum gall bladder cystic duct resulting partial complete obstruction common hepatic bile (CBD). Though described more than century ago, MS is still most challenging diseases spectrum biliary pathology. In recent years, endoscopic treatment has become an increasingly popular modality. Patients and methods. Three consecutive patients subjected to cholangioscopy-assisted laser lithotripsy (CA-LL) for postocholecystectomy (pMS) were retrospectively evaluated. Case reports. Successful clearance was achieved all two sessions. One complication form mild cholangitis observed. Clinical success 100%. Discussion. According current research, CA-LL achieves high rate ductal acceptable with pMS. A 250 µm fiber seems be optimal choice CA-LL. Our results suggest that procedure duration closely associated stone size possibly operator experience. our opinion, upon obtainment successful drainage, prophylactic stenting does not improve outcome. Conclusions. demonstrate safe effective

Single-Operator Peroral Cholangioscopy for Extraction of Cystic Duct Stones in Postcholecystectomy Mirizzi Syndrome

Mirizzi syndrome is an exceptionally rare diagnosis with an annual incidence of less than 1% in developed countries. In this disease process, stone burden in the cystic duct or gallbladder neck leads to common hepatic duct obstruction, either by mechanical compression or secondary inflammation. Mirizzi syndrome is classified into one of four types based on the presence and severity of cholecyst...

Laparoscopic treatment for post-cholecystectomy Mirizzi syndrome

The remnant cystic duct or gallbladder neck calculus may rarely result in post-cholecystectomy Mirizzi syndrome. Various managements have been proposed for the treatment of post-cholecystectomy Mirizzi syndrome. Some previous cases of post-cholecystectomy Mirizzi syndrome have been managed with open cholecystectomy and endoscopically. We report a case of a laparoscopic stone removal of post-cho...

Successful Treatment of Mirizzi’s Syndrome Using SpyGlass Guided Laser Lithotripsy

The majority of common bile duct stones can be effectively treated by endoscopic sphincterotomy and stone extraction using basket or balloon extractor. Stones more than 2 cm in diameter on the other hand require mechanical, electrohyraulic lithotripsy and sphincterotomy and balloon dilation. Mechanical lithotripsy may not be successful because of the size, consistency and site of the stones. In...

Successful endoscopic treatment for Mirizzi syndrome type II under direct peroral cholangioscopy using an ultraslim upper endoscope.

Surgery is standard management for patients with Mirizzi syndrome. In cases of Mirizzi syndrome type II, laparoscopic surgery is evenmore complicated because of the cholecystocholedochal fistula. Endoscopic treatment for Mirizzi syndrome is still controversial except to relieve a bile duct obstruction [1,2]. This report describes a successful endoscopic treatment for Mirizzi syndrome type II wi...
